"Simmer pot roast for three hours. Stir mixture with tongs to thicken it. Grab a piece of meat with tongs to check for tenderness. If the meat falls apart it?s done. Remove potatoes, carrots and meat from pot with a slotted spoon to retain the liquid for thickening into a gravy. Some people prefer to separate the carrots and potatoes from the meat."
