"Hi! I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make sweet potatoes. The first thing that we're going to add to the casserole is our sweet potatoes. It's important that the potatoes be in nice smaller sizes so that they can evenly cover the bottom of the bowl or the casserole dish. If you're using canned sweet potatoes, then this won't be a problem. If you've decided to make your own potatoes, make sure to cut them up into small pieces. If you are using your own potatoes, don't make the mistake of trying to put raw potatoes into the casserole because they won't ever cook. You can have the casserole in there for an hour and a half with the marshmallows melting away to nothing before they're going to get soft enough to eat. What you want to do if you're using raw potatoes, start by boiling them until they're almost soft. Not quite cooked through. Just enough so that if they're in the oven for a little bit longer, and then they'll be cooked through. This will insure that your casserole is edible you don't have hard potatoes. "
