"Hi. This is Rich Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make butternut squash compote. Alright, it's been 40 minutes. What we're going to do is just take it out. Be careful not to burn yourself and just let it sit a minute or two on top of your stove. Alright, we just took it out of the oven. Took off the tin foil. Let it sit for about 2 or 3 minutes just so the initial hotness is, you don't scald yourself. Alright we're going to mix in our apple and nut mixture along with our butter, our brown sugar, some salt and our corn syrup. The first thing we'll do is we'll put in our two tablespoons of butter and just start to let it mix. Now the butternut squash is still very hot and will help melt that butter down real easy. Alright we need about a half a teaspoon of salt so I just eyeball it. Just put a little bit of salt. Alright we're going to add one tablespoon of light corn syrup. It's almost like a molasses. Very sweet! Little bit more."
