"Hi, this is Rich Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make butternut squash compote. Alright, so we got our pear and we're going to do the same thing as we did our apple. We're going to de-core and give it a good chop. Alright, first thing I do, same thing like the apple is I just cut it in half. What I'll do is I'll put the flat ends down and again cut it in half once again. Alright, so again here's the core, it's a very hard, where this is very soft, the meat of the pear. So you're just going to cut right around and cut it right out. Be careful again when cutting towards yourself. This will eliminate the seeds and that hard, hard rough area. So once again, cutting towards myself, just taking out the core. Alright, so we have our four quarters and I just cut them in half like I did before with the apple. Going to turn them sideways and just cut off nice bite size pieces. Do the same to your pear. Alright, so our pears are in nice bite size pieces. Again great with these cutting boards, just pick it up and we'll add it right to our bowl."
