How to Store Pumpkin Seeds

"Hi, this is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts, on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to do one of my favorite things about Halloween. We're going to roast pumpkin seeds, yum yum! Mmm, mmm, mmm! Toasty, crunchy pumpkin seeds, right out of the oven. Oh, that was good, I think that was the chipotle. Mmm, the garlic Worcestershire sauce one is delicious, too, and I think the cinnamon spice is my favorite. But what happens if you don't eat up all those sunflower seeds the day you make them? And you want to store them? Well, if you live in a very dry climate, a simple Ziploc bag will do. But if you live anywhere where you have a little bit of humidity, you want to store your pumpkin seeds in something that's air tight, perhaps a Tupperware or other type of plastic container, one that you can get air tight or any other kind of plastic or glass container. One thing you want to make absolutely certain, before you store your pumpkin seeds is that they're completely dry and completely cool. Otherwise, they'll get soggy and then, what's the fun in that? Now, if you do have enough left over, and you want to save them for a little later, you can freeze them. Then, when you take them out, you can just pop them in the microwave or the oven for a few minutes and warm them up or just wait 'til they're not frozen anymore. They really do freeze quite well. So, if you happen to have some pumpkin seeds left over, and the family hasn't devoured them, be sure to store them in an air tight container when they're completely dry and completely cooled. Enjoy!"
