"Hi! This is Jenny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village, and today we're going to do one my favorite things about Halloween. We're going to roast pumpkin seeds. Yum-yum. Are you ready to pan roast some pumpkin seeds? Well, we have our chipotle pumpkin seeds in the oven. We have our garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce pumpkin seeds in the oven, but our all spice ginger and cinnamon seeds I'm going to pan roast. Again, you can use just about anything in your pan that you want; butter, oil or any kind. If you're going to use butter, remember you need to keep your heat very low. It's basically frying them, but it's a lot like roasting if your heat is low. You don't need too much in your pan. If you put too much oil or too much oil in your pan, you're going to end up with seeds that are swimming and it'll take longer for them to roast and get dry. You want to coat your pan real well with your butter or your oil. Once your pan is coated, especially if you're using butter it's easy to take out the extra. Again, you don't want your seeds to be swimming in butter. I have more than I needed. I'm going to take that extra out and I'm going to put my seeds in. You can also add sugar to this if you want, but I don't find it necessary with this kind of seasoning. Right now my stovetop is on high. That's mostly to get the spices dissolved and to get it to start cooking. Once my butter really starts sizzling, there it goes. I love my cast-iron pan and my gas stove. Once it starts to sizzling, I'm going to turn my heat down to low and I'm going to stay right here and I'm going to continue to stir my seeds keeping them separated as much as possible until they're all dry, the moisture is all gone, and the seeds are starting to get golden brown, then I might just taste one. That's how you pan roast or pan fry pumpkin seeds."
