"Hi. I'm Judy Brosco with Expert Village and in this segment, I'm going to show you how to make these little pine cones out of marzipan to decorate your yule log cake. You start with a small piece of the ready made marzipan. Marzipan is naturally tan in color because of the almonds, but we make it brown by kneading in cocoa. And you could just do this to your desired taste, how dark you want them. Keep your fingers moist with the shortening. Also helps to knead it in. You're going to need a small pair of crafting scissors with a little sharp tip on them. And when you get it all kneaded in, you're going to roll it into a ball and then a cone. It doesn't have to be perfect, because you're going to cut your points into it. Starting at the top, you cut and you pull down. Cut in and pull down. Twisting the cone as you go around. You'll need to clean off the tip of your scissors from time to time. And just keep going until you get the look you like. There you go."
