on 8/2/2008 Yummy! After watching, I ran to the farmer's market and made one of those delicious sandwiches. Sweet, personable presenter. She should be on Food Channel.

"Now we're about to start slicing just remember before you do that you have to make sure your vegetables are washed . Try to buy organic but sometimes you can't and there will be pesticides and even with organic produce there is dirt and so you should wash them. Now the mushrooms instead of washing what I like to do is take a paper towel and just rub away all of that dirt and grit. If you wash them it will actually changes the texture and it's kind of icky so this is a better way to do it. Now we are ready to start slicing and one of the keys here is to slice all your vegetables very thinly because we have a lot of ingredients for our sandwich. If it's too thick it's going to be a huge sandwich that you can't bite into and also the vegetables are more liable to fall out and that you don't want. We're going to start with the tomato and just a couple thin slices they're this is a roma tomato of course you can use any type of tomato that you like. We have a mushroom one mushroom is enough for sandwich slice slice thinly there we go. Now I also love olives and of course you can buy these presliced but I find that they have a better flavor if you buy them jumbo olives and you slice it yourself, about 3 of these I like olives. Now we have the jalapeƱos my personal favorite now if you don't like spice food you can still use jalapeƱo but you want to make sure that you get all the seeds and the membranes out cause thats where the heat is. There's not heat in the actual food itself so if it has no seeds then you should be able to handle it just fine, personally I would keep them in because I like it hot. We have the avocado the avocado of course is a little bit different you have to slice it in half first and you take your half you want to score it into thin slices. Just like that and we're ready to apply it we're just going to take a spoon and dig it in there but I'll show you that later. And the lettuce we're not going to chop that is our slicing and now we're ready to put the bread in the toaster and get it nice and toasty and warm."
