" Hi! I’m Nili Nathan with Expert Village. Next, I’m going to show you how to make a basic veggie smoothie. Everybody is familiar with spinach so we’ll use spinach. This has been cleaned and rinsed. Celery, carrots, and apples. With a veggie recipe, this a good time if you’re feeling like you’re coming up with a little bit of a cold, you may want to throw in one clove of garlic and one slice of ginger. I’m going to show you how to do it because it does work well with this combination. The first thing we need is our base. For this recipe, I’m using 100 % coconut water. You can find these in a lot of Asian and various ethnics markets. That’s about a cup and half, and I’ll throw in the spinach. You can also use any of the soy milk or the rice milk as your base or you might want to use a little apple juice or orange juice too if you can’t find the coconut water. Throw in some apples. That just helps sweeten it up. I like the taste of a little bit of an apple and the veggie. Celery, carrot. I’m going to throw in a clove and a garlic. My blender here will blend everything up so there’s no pulp and we retain all the important vitamins and nutrients that are in the pulp. Why throw them away, put them in your body. We start off low, work our way up to the high. There you have it. I can smell that garlic. I love garlic. Any time I’m feeling like I’m getting a sinus infection or a cold, I will throw a clove of garlic in my smoothie and drink it. It’s got a lot of healing properties. By the way, garlic is also very good for your heart health as well. Ginger is good, it aides nausea, so if you have a little stomach distress. It’s also good for your digestion too. There you have it. "
