"Hello, I'm Robert Cheeke, president of Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness based here in Portland, Oregon. Today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to do a tutorial all about being vegan. In this clip, I'm going to tell you how to order vegan food at a typical restaurant. Listed on this menu outside are all kinds of different things, entrees, salads, and a whole bunch of curry dishes too. Usually, the rule of thumb is that salads are going to be vegan but that's not always a most exciting thing. You don't want to just come across as the person that just orders salad every time. So if you look on here, it says please specify for vegan food. You won't find that at all restaurants, but all of these curries can be made vegan. In fact, even the pizza can be made vegan without cheese and so basically, what you want to do when you get to a restaurant is ask them what types of vegetables they have available, what grains they have available, and you can actually, in most cases, create your own dish. You tell them that your vegan and that you don't want any butter or milk, or meat, or eggs, or any animal product in there, and say hey, what produce do you have to work with. They'll actually often times create a special dish for you. So you don't always have to go on what's on the menu, there are a variety of salads on there. There are a variety of noodle dishes, and Thai dishes, and steamed vegetable dishes. Pretty much every restaurant you go to is going to have rice, potatoes, lettuce, tomato, onion, carrots, a variety of vegetables. So no matter where you go, you can really mix and match."
