Video Transcript

"Hello, I'm Robert Cheeke, president of Vegan Bodybuilding and Fitness based here in Portland, Oregon. And today, on behalf of Expert Village I'm doing a tutorial all about being vegan. In this clip, we're going to talk about shopping for produce, fruits and vegetables. And these are things that contain everything essential for life, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, glucose. This is the primary source of nutrition, getting the nutrients straight from the fruit or vegetable, rather than getting it from a secondary source after it's already been processed and into the animal. So let's talk about, even things like protein and calcium, these are found here in these green foods. Whether it's a spinach or a kale, or romaine lettuce, these are high forms of nutrient dense foods. And again, fruits you're talking about fructose, simple sugars, so you're getting sustained energy right away, so you get energy that's going to be useful, you know, for the body and very, very healthy. Obviously these things are what give us a lot of vitality and energy, and get us through the day without using stimulants from sugars, or refined carbohydrates and processed foods. The more color the better especially dark green. Dark green is."
