Series Summary

The raw food diet is one of the latest trends to sweep the globe. Because world health statistics indicate that we have a skyrocketing obesity problem, people are taking a closer look at what they eat and asking the question, “Why am I getting so fat?” While some would say that the problem stems from a hereditary predisposition to be overweight, others admit that a large part of the problem lies in the foods that they choose to eat regularly. And increasingly, we seem to be choosing meals high in fat and sodium content, lacking real nutritional value.

Raw foods are defined as items that have not been cooked above 118° F. The basic idea behind raw foodism is that most vitamins and enzymes get cooked out of our foods at higher temperatures, causing our bodies to work harder to digest.

If you are considering a switch to the raw food diet, take a few minutes and check out these free videos on how to make healthy breakfast recipes. Raw food chef Denise Bennett shows you some simple ways to create a flavorful, yet simple, breakfast for any day of the week. Recipes include a homemade breakfast cereal, raw yogurt, and sweet crackers. Enjoy!
