"Hi, I'm Marieve Herington with Expert Village and this evening I'm going to be making a vegan dinner party. I'm having my aunt and uncle over for dinner and I'm going to be doing their vegan favorites. Now, before I even moved to California I was visiting for the month of July and I have to say I always loved to cook. But I had no experience with vegan cooking. I didn't even know they were vegans until I arrived to get off of the plane and I realized that everything is being cooked in the kitchen made with beans, or it's made with nothing, not only meat bast but any animal products. So I'm thinking what am I going to be able to cook, I learned pretty quickly that the skills that I had in Canada cooking with butter and eggs and meat and what not, could quite easily be adapted. It was just a matter of me rethinking the ingredients that I was using to create very flavorful dishes. So today I'm going to be starting with an appetizer of little chicken pea snacks. Now usually appetizers if you seen my segment on holiday entertaining, a lot of stuff a lot of appetizers have either butter or cheese in it. But this is a completely vegan appetizer. Then for the main course I'm going to be doing a coconut curry, my aunt loves coconut milk. Then I'm going to be doing brown rice because that is something that I always had such trouble with is getting the proportion of rice and water properly together. Then I'm going to be doing an Asian coleslaw and finishing off with an entirely not only vegan dessert but entirely sugar free, so let us get started."
