"Aloha, this is Sonia Martinez from the big island of Hawaii on behalf of Expert Village. The modern lassi is made ice cold and it's usually sweet. We can use any kind of fruit that you prefer. In Hawaii, just like in India, we have lots of mangos and the mango lassi is quite popular. Wherever you live you might use peaches, apricots, nectarines, you might even use berries of any kind. It just depends on what you have available. The sweetener depends also, some people prefer sugar, a lot of people prefer honey, and our artificial sweeteners might be used but you might prefer to go natural with something like this. Or fruit juices, if you use a fruit juice, don't use milk or water to thin out your lassi. The lassi is more like a milk shake but instead of using ice cream you're using yogurt. So, remember it's going to be tangy, it's going to have a different taste from your regular milk shake. We also have to remember that if the fruit is a little bit too sweet like possibly some of these mangos might be a little bit too sweet, you might not want to use any sweetener at all. So, if you use sweetener, or if you want to, taste it first."
