"SIMEON LOWE: Hi, my name is Simeon Lowe on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we are going to learn how to make gourmet coffee in your home. All right. Now every coffee machine is going to be different and depending on the espresso machine that you use, you might have to use a couple of different techniques as how to get it running and how to get pulling shots, steaming the milk, et cetera. So first of all, what we're going to do with this particular espresso machine, we have to unscrew the lid on the top which holds all the water which you are going to be using to pull your shots of espresso to steam your milk. We're going to fill up one full pot of water or whatever measurement tool that you have on the machine. Now, a lot of the machines if they are really nice and really expensive, you're not going to have to actually put the water in them. It's going to have a water filter to get the water to it. And also, you're going to want to make sure to use filtered water. Don't go using just regular gross tap water if it's unfiltered. So to get the machine going, on this particular one, we have over here. It allows us to switch it from espresso shots to steam milk to off. If we're going to be pulling espresso shots, we're going to turn this off all this way, which is going to allow the water to heat up and pull the shots through the portafilter. If we're going to steam milk, we're going to turn it the opposite way, which is going to allow this to steam to allow the milk to foam."
