"Hello my name is Patrick McMenamin the owner of Caledonia Bar here in Budapest and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to talk about whiskey and particular Scott whiskey when you look at the label of any bottle of Scotch single malt the single malt refers to that the only and main ingredient of that whiskey is indeed a barley. Of course in blended whiskey's where a variety of whiskey's are blended together you can also get a very wonderful blends of whiskey. But when it refers to single malt it simply means that whiskey has been made for one single source of barley, and therefore when look at a whiskey label a good example here, being the Glenfiddich, The Glenfiddich is described as a single malt and the aged of the whiskey will be defined on the label just being the 12 year old and those are the main characteristics that many people who enjoy single Scotch malt whiskey would look for on a label."
