"Hi, I'm Mark Emiley on behalf of Expert Village. In this next segment, we will be talking about rinsing our grains and getting the nice wort out of them so we can use it in our brewing process. While we're waiting, we are going to start preparing one half-gallon of water to do our rinse at about one-hundred and seventy degrees. Now we are going to take our grains out after our half an hour has passed. And we are going to rinse them with the hot water, aiming for one-hundred and seventy degrees that we've already had steeping. This will help extract a little extra of the sugar and the flavor. Now as this is dripping dry, it's okay to give it a very slight squeeze. But do not over squeeze it as it will extract too much tannins. Now that we've extracted the colors and flavors from the specialty grains, we're going to turn up the heat and start getting ready for our boil."
