"I'm going to tell you a little bit about a white wine called Semillon. Don't feel bad if you've never heard of it. It's just becoming well-known on the world scene. Semillon is native to the Bordeaux region of France, where it's blended with the grape called Sauvignon Blanc to make the famous white wines of Bordeaux. However, you don't usually find a varietal Semillon from France. You'll have to go elsewhere in the world to find that. I have seen excellent Semillons from California, and the best wine-producing region of the world for Semillon these days, most likely is the Hunter Valley in Australia. A varietal Semillon is an interesting wine with flavors of grapefruit and lemon, a little bit of herbality, and a nice kind of honey, nutty overtone. So even though Semillon is not very well-known, it's worth seeking out. It may take you a little bit of time to find a wine labeled Semillon, but if you find one, pick it up. Give it a try and you'll find yourself with a nice, medium-to-full-bodied, lightly acidic white wine that'll be a great match for your fish dishes, your chicken dishes, or maybe a nice salad on a Sunday afternoon. So try a Semillon."
