"Hi, I'd like to tell you about Chardonnay. Chardonnay is one of the world's most popular white wines, and probably the first wine you ever knew the name of. What you might not know about Chardonnay is it's thought to be native to the Burgundy region of France. And all of those very expensive and very hard-to-pronounce wines like Montrachet are actually just French Chardonnay - one of the finest examples in the world, of course. One of the reasons that Chardonnay is so popular the world over is that the grape grows well in a variety of different regions. Just about any wine-producing region on the face of the earth will have a nice Chardonnay growing there. What you might want to look for in a Chardonnay is a nice, rich texture, maybe a little bit heavier than some of the other white wines you're used to. In the bottom of the glass you should smell some wonderful fruit aromas ranging from green apple and pear and apricot in the lighter versions up to dry pineapple and mango in some of the heavier versions. What a lot of people like about Chardonnay is the oakiness and butteriness that sometimes is in the glass also. That comes from wine production not the grape, but it is in a lot of Chardonnays. What you also might want to look for is a little bit of a nutty aroma or a mineral aroma, kind of like wet stones or wet sand. Makes it a great bridge for lots of foods. So no matter what your taste in wine, you're bound to find a Chardonnay that works for you. Enjoy."
