"Hi, my name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I’m going to show you how to make the holiday favorite Spiced Apple Cider. Alright, this is what you’re going to need for today’s project as far as gadgetry goes. You’re going to need a pot, preferably something larger than one and a half quarts, this recipe is one quart so something in a one and a half quart, two quarts, three quarts range, something like that, you won’t need a lid so just something that’s got a nice thick bottom to it so it doesn’t heat all the way through too fast. We’re also going to need a strainer or in my case I’m using two strainers, you can also use a, if you have a really fine colander or if you had a, I don’t know, maybe if you had some cheesecloth that would work, but I’m just going to use two strainers inside of each other and I’m also going to use a coffee filter like this, I’m going to place the coffee filter inside the top strainer and strain through that, through the other two strainers to really get all the impurities out. So it’s going to strain through here, through both the strainers and come out the bottom so really we can catch all the sediments and stuff that’s inside the actual, the actual apple cider. You also could get a bigger coffee filter and put it between the two strainers too, so. We’re also going to need a spatula or a wooden spoon, a cutting board, a wooden spoon just to stir it up, and to kind of mix everything around. We’re also going to need to use a zester or a knife and a cutting board. I prefer to use to use the knife and cutting board technique just to cut the skin off the lemon, for the lemons zest, but if you use a zester, you can do it just fine, it’s just that I tend to find the zesters tend to kind of smash what you’re working with, it doesn’t really work as well, so, that’s just my opinion and let’s go ahead and get started on making our apple cider.
