"Hi, my name is Gail Hoffman. I'm from Huntington Beach Florida and on behalf of Expert Village I"m going to demonstrate how to make Cafe Au Lait. Since we are making Cafe Au Lait the French version of the drink I have chosen a French press to make the coffee in. A French press is a wonderful thing to make coffee in than I believe a coffee maker. It was invented in the 1850s and they used probably a metal pot at that time and the mesh was made out of cloth. We now somewhere in the beginning of the 19th century they started using glass and the mesh is made out of stainless steel. The true coffee lovers would probably say that this is the best way to drink coffee. The main thing is that because you don't have any filters the coffee the essential oils from the coffee come through and they create almost like a creamy frothy texture at the top. Also the best time to drink the coffee is within 20 minute after you made it because it starts to become a little bit bitter afterwards."
