"Hi, my name's Kip and welcome to Expert Village. Today we're making cookie rounds, a wonderful holiday treat. Now, while those are cooking, make sure that you get yourself a couple of wooden spoons. Our wooden spoons, or in this case wooden spoon and wooden fork, this is about the only thing I ever use these for. I ought to just cut the ends off, but once in a while we'll use them for other things. We use to wrap the cookie around the shaft. And we want to oil that with a non flavored oil to make sure that the cookie can slide off when it cools, cause the cookie will be a bit tacky when we're done or when we pull them off and roll them up. So make sure that you have enough oil on there. If you've never oiled a piece of wood before the oil will actually soak in, you might have to do it a couple of times. If you make a lot of these cookies then it would be a good idea just to go down and buy yourself a wooden dowel at the hardware store the size that you want, and then you can always season these. We actually with rolling pins, wooden rolling pins and wooden counters in the commercial bakery, will season them or oil them frequently to keep them in proper working condition."
