" Hi, I’m Linda Leon with Expert Village.com, and we are going to be talking about cake decorating today. Our theme is the tools for the trade, so come on over and let me share with you some of my tips. Now here are some of the tools for the trade. If you are going to be a good cake decorator, you need a good set of tips. This is the set that I used when I was a professional cake decorator, but for you, all you need to get started is a few tips. You will need a rose tip, which makes rose petals and other flower type petals. You will need a good writer’s tip so that you can put your greetings on your cake, and these come in all various sizes. This is one of the larger ones here, and it is also called a piping tube. You are going to need a good border tip, and this is a basic star border tip, and these come in all shapes and sizes also. Then you are going to need a leaf tip, so you can make good flowers and pretty vines and decorations on your cake. You will also need a stainless steel spatula because this is going to help you get the icing on the cake just right. That’s a small version. I also like to use the larger stainless steel spatulas. You will need a rose tip. This is a rose tip, and when you watch my segment on how to make a rose, you will see how this is used. You will also need a coupler and a coupler screw, which goes inside of a decorator’s bag. This is a decorator’s bag, and that is where you put your icing. You slide your tip in with your coupler and your screw inside of this. And finally you are going to need a good spinning wheel or some type of spinner so that you can ice your cakes properly. I hope you got the opportunity to learn something new today, and I would encourage you to continue on with some of our other segments and learn some other new things about cake decorating."
