"Okay, let's trim our cake and put the two layers together. Now this cake came out rather domed and even cracked on top, so we're going to trim off the top of that, and just take a serrated knife and parallel to the plate, you want to just take off that doming on top. And just set that aside. And now you have your layer cake and you may also want to remove any dome that's on top of that. And with the serrated knife, just trim that all around and you set that aside. Now we'll take the cake out of the pan and, a great way to make sure your cakes come out every time, is you put a piece of baking paper on the bottom of the pan. You cut a circle exactly the size of the bottom of the pan and lay that in before you put your batter in. And then you spray pan release over that and around all the sides and your cake will come out every time. Now let's just see how that's going to work. That's fine. And then we'll put a little bit of icing between the two layers so that they stick together nicely. You want to put a good amount of icing in between the layers so that some of the icing comes out and fills in the crack between the two cakes. Okay? And next we can frost our cake all over with butter cream frosting."
