"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village okay now to the flour and our food processor we are going to add a 2/4 cup shorten and a 1/2 cup of butter or margarine. Now have this shorten or margarine in the freezer to make sure that it is good and cold and that would help cut it into the flour without getting to soft. Put your lid on the food processor and we are just going to pulse it lightly, we would pulse that until we have a coarse meal with it. You don't want to over mix the flour and the fat. Let's take a look at it. Okay you should just be the margarine and the shorten should be just mixed into the flour and it should look like a coarse meal with no lumps. But you don't want to mix it up into a ball. "
