"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to make a variety of tiny tarts. Our first step is going to be creaming the cream cheese and the butter together. I already measured out 3 oz of cream cheese; you want to make sure that both your cream cheese and your butter are at room temperature. The softer they are the faster and easier it will be to cream them and you probably want to a stand mixer. You can certainly combine them by hand but that is going to be a lot of muscle power and using a hand held mixer will work but you also risk burning out the motor of the hand held mixer if everything isn't as soft at room temperature. We are going to start out a little bit slowly, you just want to let them break up a little bit and then we are going to increase the speed of our mixer. Now that we have beaten the cream cheese and butter together you can see the consistency, it's a nice even color which is what you want to make sure that they have combined and nice and soft."
