Series Summary

Not all bread is created equal. There are nutritional benefits to certain breads that exceed that of others. Wheat bread is said to have more nutritional benefits than other types of bread such as white bread. Kamut wheat, aka "King Tut's Wheat" is an ancient cultivar of Triticum Turgidum that has been grown in Egypt for thousands of years. Kamut bread not only contains high amounts of vitamins (like other wheat breads) but it also contains roughly thirty to forty percent more protein than other wheat breads. This makes Kamut bread a highly favorable bread for those of us who are health conscious. Additionally Kamut bread is an alternative for people who are sensitive to regular wheat bread. If you would like to learn how to make Kamut bread in your own home, learn for free, online, from our expert chef.

In this free online video recipe, learn how to make Kamut bread from chef Jane Murphy. Jane will follow a heart healthy recipe that will show you what ingredients you need to make Kamut bread. Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Jane Murphy I'm here at Zen Clay Cafe in Morgantown, West Virginia and I'm going to be showing you a heart healthy bread recipe on behalf of Expert Village. Okay the bread that I'm showing you today is a kamut bread but we turned it into a heart healthy recipe and in order to do that we've taken the oil out and this recipe we'll be replacing the oil with applesauce, it's got half whole grain, which half of that is from the wheat and half it's from a grain called kamut which comes from Africa so it's like a wheat but a bit larger plumper so we got some fiber in it, we've got some good apples and whole grains, vitamins with that but not additional fat so it fulfills the stimulations of a reversal diets such as Dean Ornish, chips program, Mardugle plan so let's go forward and make some bread."
