" Helen McMahon, here for Expert Village. We now have our cookies out of the oven; they turned out to be beautiful, nicely browned cookies. You can see the raisins in some of the nuts on the surface and the proper way to store these is to put them in an airtight container. Here is a nice box that was originally used for commercial cookies but this is a good size to store the 3 dozen or so cookies that are produced by this recipe. They will keep for several weeks although; you will be eating them up much faster than that. They also store very nicely and sometimes if you are giving them away or sending some for folks who are going on a trip if your family has been visiting and they are going back, you can use the empty containers and the cookies fit in very nicely and store very well. That is another way to transport cookies so that they keep their shape nicely. Sometimes I line the oatmeal container with some wax paper to help them make the journey without rattling around too much. A raisin container is also very good, so save these because these make excellent containers to put through the mail. Maybe you have some folks in Iraq who would love to have some freshly baked cookies from home or if you want to serve them right away, you can just take a pretty platter and arrange freshly baked cookies to have for tea or even for breakfast; remember they are with oatmeal. I hope you enjoy your oatmeal cookies and try them sometimes with raisins or chocolate chips and nuts and your family will be sure to love them. "

on 8/2/2008 The recipe part of the video calls for 2 1/2 cups of flour, no mention of oatmeal. The video part shows only 2 cups of flour and 2 1/2 cups of oatmeal. Who cares if she is making meringue after this recipe and is saving an egg white. This video is way too long and way too slow. I have not cooked these yet so hopefully the cookies will be OK.
