"Hey guys! This is J. talking on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, I am going to show you guys how to wash and dry your apples. I just took the sticker off my apple. Make sure you've got all the stickers off and stick them in a little draining bowl and put all the apples in here, wash them. You want medium heat and you want to wash these good. All these apples have a bunch of wax on them and starch. What you want to do is get all that off, completely off of each one. You want to wash these good. If you don't wash these apples guys, what is going to happen is all that candy apple is not going to stick like it is supposed to. It is just going to make a big mess. What you want to do is get yourself a nice paper towel and individually just hand dry all of them and you want to make sure that these are washed completely and dried completely. That way you get yourself a nice surface for all that syrup we are going to stick on these. If you want to prewash these in the precooking, you can do that or you can do these at this time. It doesn't really matter when you do it. You just have to do it. It is very important that you wash and dry your apples. This is actually one of the crucial steps in making candy apples and any expert will tell you that. Not only do you have to always wash every apple you eat, it is important to do it really really thoroughly for these candy apples. And you just want to get every bit of water off of these and that is basically after washing and drying your apples guys. Thanks for listening. I'll talk to you in the next clip. "
