"Hi! On behalf of Expert Village my name is Andrea Spano and I'm going to show you how to make Ganache from my new book "Not Just Desserts." Okay, as I said, Ganache is made with 3 basic ingredients. It's very simple. Semi-sweet chocolate; I like to use any brand of semi-sweet. Preferably in chip sizes so that it melts evely and it doesn't take too long to melt. Heavy cream; don't subsitute because the heavy cream really gives this really rich flavor and glossyness after the ganache is finished. Also, vanilla extract. I talked about how imitation vanilla extract is perfectly okay and it's also a lot more economical than pure vanilla extract. Those 3 ingredients are all that you need to for making a perfect liquid chocolate used for different parts of different recipes. "
