"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make these delicious festive wreath cookies. Our first step in mixing is going to be adding our dry ingredients and mixing them first. It's very important for mixing up all of your dry ingredients separate from the wet ingredients to make sure that the baking powder in particular is incorporated throughout. If it's indirectly with the wet ingredients, it will probably clump and not be able to mix throughout the dough. We are going to start with 2 cups of flour and you want to lightly scoop it into your one cup measuring cup. If you pack it down, you're going to end up with to much flour. The cookie will end up being dried and not holding together properly. That is one and two cups, just top that off a little bit and gently level the top. Besides the flour, we are also going to be adding 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt. You just want to be very careful when measuring this out so that it doesn't flow too freely from the salt container, the 1/4 cup of baking powder. You want to make sure that you use baking powder which is fresh so that it has optimal rising ability. Then we are just going to gently stir with either, you can use a wooden spoon, I'm using a spatula spoon (spoonula) and you just want to make sure that all of it has been incorporated. That it's nicely mixed up and we're on ready for the next step."
