"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village, now we are going to add our apple filling. If you wnat to moisture proof your bottom crust you can wash a little bit of egg wash and brush that on the whole bottom crust. We would just crack a egg without the egg yoke, set that aside and just beat up a little bit to break up the egg white and just take a pastry brush and brush that all over the bottom pie crust like this. Now we would put our apple filling right in there. Just scrap that all in there I like a nice high apple pie so I use a lot of apples and pile them up nicely, scrap all that good stuff in there and then I use my hands to kind of compact them in cause they are going to shrink alot while cooking and if they are loose in there they are just going to shrink up even more. Compact them in there nice and tight that looks good and then we would top it with our 3 tablespoons of butter and margarine they call it dotting it with butter and margarine. Just take little clumps and that would melt down in the pie filling as it cooks. There we go now we are ready to roll out our top crust and finish up the pie. "

on 7/5/2009 Dear Karen, there is no video here teaching how to make the apple pie filling. Do I need just to mix all the ingredients? Do I have to soak the sliced apples into water with the lemon juice? or do I mix the lemon juice with the other ingredients for the filling? Please, I would appreciate if you answered my question as soon as possible! Thank you in advance
