"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village we would be starting with the pie crust homemade pie crust is usually people shy away from making but I'm going to show you how to make them quick and easily with 3 simple tips. Tip one is accurately measure all ingredients. Tip two is make sure all ingredients are ice cold. Tip three work quickly and don't over mix or over work the dough. Let's get started. Now we are going to measure our ingredients. Let's put 2 1/4 cup of flour into this bowl. I want to measure it accurately so I'm using a knife to scrape that off nice and evenly. That is one and two cups and 1/4 cup, I'm going to put my salt into that flour and set that aside. Now I'm going to measure my shortening and the best way to do that is with a spatula and you want to push that shortening into the cup and fill it right to the top and squish it down really good to make sure there are no air pockets so you could completely fill that cup. Then scrape it off the top and I'm going to place that on a little plastic plate and set that aside. Then I'm not going to measure this margarine the margarine, for the margarine it comes package and it will tell you where to cut the margarine to get a perfect 1/4 cup. You just look at the little marks on the paper and you cut yourself a perfect little 1/4 cup. If you don't have that marking you just squeeze it into the 1/4 cup and scrape it out just like we did our shortening. Now all these ingredients we are going to put into the freezer to get nicely chilled the flour and salt, the shortening and margarine. "
