"Hi I'm Karen for Expert Village, we're going to decorate our Death by Chocolate cake with chocolate roses. I'm going to show you how to make a special chocolate paste that we'll make the roses out of. For that recipe you need 4 oz of a bitter sweet chocolate, this is just bitter sweet chocolate chips and some 3 tablespoons of corn syrup. First we're going to melt our chocolate chips in a double boiler, our chocolate is melted we're just going to wipe off the bottom of the pan cause it was in the double boiler and it's wet. Then we'll add and you can see that it's melted all nicely. We're going to add our 3 tablespoons of corn syrup, 1, 2,3 and you just stir that up, as it cools it'll hardened to a nice mask that you can actually roll. You can see it's already thickened the addition of the corn syrup. It's already thickening and when it cools we're going put that, your going to be able to roll it and make roses, leaves and flowers (whatever you want to do) just mix it up nice and even. Next we're going to do scrap it out onto a piece of baking paper and I'm going to put that in the refrigerator to chill. I use a plastic spatula to make sure we get all of our chocolate paste. Just pour that out onto the baking paper like that, scraping it out and we put that in the refrigerator, I'll just wrap it up and put that in the refrigerator and when it cools we'll be able to roll it out and make roses with it."
