"The streusel which really is what makes the coffee cake a coffee cake. Really easy. Calls for a half a cup of brown sugar. Now I tend to like a little more streusel, so I'm going to do a little more than half a cup. And I'm pouring it into a Cuisinart. I'm using a quarter cup measure. So that's a half and oh maybe just a little bit for good measure. Cause I do like my streusel. You don't have to. You can stick to the recipe, but I like it and you can use walnuts or pecans. Again a half a cup. I like to use a little more. Just me. It's a healthy half cup. And a half a teaspoon of cinnamon. It's going to give it a really nice flavor. I'm just going to open this up. And if you go over half a teaspoon, don't, it's not a big deal. Yeah that's a half. What we want to do is blend these all together. I've got my little Cuisinart. I've got it fitted with a metal blade. If you don't have a Cuisinart and you've got a little chopper that will work as well. You just want to get it nice and pulsed. Let's see. I'll show you what we're looking for. This is what we're looking for. It could take one more little pulse. You want a little bit of texture with the nuts but not much. Okay that's perfect. Let me grab a bowl. Pour that out into a bowl. Hope my bowl is big enough. Ooh this is the good stuff. This is the stuff I used to steal from my mom and eat before she put it on her cake. It never really made her too happy, but she never really complained. Yummy. There. That was easy. And that's basically what streusel looks like. So we've got that out of the way and we're ready now to get started on assembling our cake."
