"My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a nice simple pound cake. It's been a few minutes. So you'll see what's happened is you'll see how all the mixture is sitting up on the sides of the bowl. When that happens, we're going to lower the bowl, like this and we're just going to scoop it away. And one thing you're going to watch out for when you're creaming your sugar or creaming your butter and your sugar together, is you want to make sure the sugar doesn't, the butter doesn't get too hot and start separating. Which it's, right now it's in the right place. But it's pretty close. So, let's go ahead and raise this back up, turn this back on a little bit, give it one more mixing. See how it has this light fluffy texture? That means we're still good. So the next thing we're going to do, is we're going to start adding our eggs in. And we're going to start adding them in one at a time. So, this could actually take a few minutes. And the reason you want to do them one at a time is you want to make sure they fully mix up in here. So you can do this while it's running. It won't hurt anything. Even if you want to speed this up a little bit, feel free. So, it's actually an interesting story the way pound cake got it's name, was that the traditional recipe for pound cake consists of a pound of sugar, pound of flour, pound of butter and a pound of eggs. Obviously that's not the case anymore. For a couple of reasons. One, we found a, we found better ways to make the cake without having to resort to such incredible measures of items that are bad for you. And two it's just that. Everything that's in there is pretty bad for you. So, that had a whole lot to do with it too. So you can see, I'm just adding the eggs in one at a time. Whoops, whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I just dropped an egg shell in there. Let's grab that. See? I saved it before it made a mess. Lucky me. So we're adding the eggs in one at a time. And as we mix them in, you can see that the mixture has taken on a whole different feeling. It's got a nice rich texture. And the eggs are mixing in very, very well. So, a little more speed here. Now what you want to do is you want to lower this bowl here and you want to scrape all the way down to the bottom and make sure you've got everything off the sides of the bowl. It's not so important at this stage, but it's far more important once we get the flour mixed in to make sure the flour gets mixed evenly. So we'll just get all that off the spatula. And we're going to mix it up for a couple more seconds and we'll come back to our next step."
