"My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to make a nice simple pound cake. Let's go over our pound cake ingredients here real quick the first thing you're going to need is 3 cups of granulated sugar; just a plain white you get at the grocery store. You're also going to need a 1/2 a pound or 2 sticks of butter. I use salted butter but you can use unsalted as well, moving right along here we're going to need 5 regular large eggs just plain regular eggs. If you use extra large eggs, you're going to go one less and if you use like a smaller egg, you are going to make it six. So just make sure we stick with the large eggs, 3 cups of regular all purpose flour; this is just the plain old stuff that you use for everyday cooking, 1 teaspoon of salt. I use rock salt but plain iodine salt works just fine. We also have a cup of milk and you can use any kind of milk except skim milk. Skim milk kind of messes the recipe a little bit. If you use skim milk, you're going to need a tiny bit more of flour so that being said moving forward here we got this is actually a 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda but it has been dissolved in 1 tablespoon of hot water. So we do this in advance so get it ready you can also do it as you're going but I just went and did it in advance. Right here I have 2 teaspoons of vanilla that is vanilla extract. You can use imitation vanillas as well. It wouldn't be that big of a deal and 1/2 teaspoon of just plain ground cinnamon that we're going to use in our cake mix as well. So let's go ahead and get started with our pound cake mix. Let me show you what you're going to need to do to make it though just to make it a little bit easier on you."
