"Have you ever wondered how to store your leftovers? You want to make sure that you get your leftovers in the refrigerator no more than two hours after cooking and serving the meal. You want to avoid them sitting out at room temperature in the danger zone of 40 and 140 degrees. This will cause bacteria to start growing. You want to store leftovers in a zip lock bag which allows good circulation for cooling evenly and quickly or in a glass or plastic container no deeper than three inches. It is important to note that different components of the meal should be stored separately. Different foods go bad at different temperatures and rates. Storing leftovers separately gives you a better chance of getting more use out of them in the long run. It is very important to remember the rule "when in doubt throw it out.""
