"Have you ever pulled something like this out of your refrigerator? It is probably old or not stored properly. Let?s talk about how you can avoid this from happening. There is a drawer toward the bottom of your refrigerator called the crisper. In most refrigerators you will notice a humidity control. You will have to adjust this control depending on where you live. You can adjust it to keep vegetables fresh and crisp. This is called the snap effect. The snap effect is what you want to see with vegetables like asparagus, celery, carrots, and lettuce. The snap effect simply means that you will hear a nice little snap. When dealing with asparagus a good step is to bend it and where it naturally snaps is where you want to cut. The upper part is what you want to eat. When you have a bunch of asparagus use the snap effect then line the rest up and that is where you want to cut."
