"Hi! This is Rich Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make an apple crisp rice salad. Since we're not using instant rice, we're going to start our rice first so it's cooking while we start prepping the other stuff. You're going to need a cup of brown rice. You could also use wild rice. I wouldn't recommend this dish for white rice. We're going to need 2 cups of that broth. I have a little chicken broth. That'll give it a nice flavor. If you have it, use it. It's an extra buck and definitely makes a difference. We're going to put a tablespoon of butter and we’re going to put that under a medium heat. Wrong one. We're going to get this to a boil. Once it gets to a boil, we're going to give it one stir and then cover it with our lid and bring it down to a nice simmer and cook it for about 15 minutes. We're going to lower the flame to a simmering flame, which is a low flame, and we're going to cover it. We're going to leave it for about 15 minutes."
