"Hi, I'm Stephanie Barnett here on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to show you today how to make a fabulous Split Pea Soup. So now I have my carrots. I wash them and I peel them. I am going to cut the ends off of both sides and I am going to cut them in half and going to cut them in half lengthwise. I am going to cut that in half and I am going to take this one and do the same thing. I am going to cut that in half, cut that in half and make a nice little bundle and just go down and chop and make sure your fingers are pointing down, so you don't cut the ends of your fingers off. If you've had a lot of practice, you can go quite fast. I am going to do the same thing with the rest of the carrot. I'm going to cut this, this and you want these all about uniformed size pieces. That is why we are cutting the big pieces down into like little strips and if it is a really fat carrot, you may have to have several strips out of the long carrot, make a bundle and then cut. "
