"Hi! This is Richard Buccola here in New York City and today on behalf of Expert Village, I am going to show you how to make scalloped potatoes. All right so I am back and I am just going to wipe off my cutting board. I try to keep my table clean as I go. A little garlic; here's your clove of garlic. Look at how easy it is to get your garlic out of that clove. Just butt in, point, give it a little smash and you will see cloves to start to open up. For this dish, you are only going to need about two cloves of garlic. Two cloves like so and very simple to get that out of there as well. The same way that we got it out of the rhine of the garlic. Again just the tip here, get the butt end, give it a little smash and you will see that the garlic comes right out. That little point there, that is something that you want to get rid of too. You want to cut that out of there and I will just do that one more time. Point, butt end, give it a little smash, comes right out of its shell. That tip you want to get rid of is hard, not needed and then you just start cutting your garlic up by some lines straight through, turn it this way and cut it that way. You want to get it down real fine by just putting your knife like this and using the back end going back and forth. Don't let that point get in there. Just going back and forth. You will see by doing that, you will cut your garlic real fine and real chopped up. Come back. We are putting this all together scalloped potatoes here on Expert Village. "
