"In this clip we're going to talk about the proper service procedure to rebuild a front brake caliper. In this step, we're going to talk about the proper service procedure for jacking our vehicle off the ground, placing our jack stand and settling the vehicle down onto the jack stand. We're aiming for a heavy duty front end component, part of the front axle, or a piece of the frame. You're not going to want to jack it up by the oil pan or any other light duty front end parts, as you may bend or damage them. Take and pick my location. We're going to use one of the front I-beams for the vehicle and begin jacking it up. Once we have it jacked up enough to work on comfortably and remove our tire, we can take and place your jack stand. As you can see, I have my jack stand placed on the outside end of that I-beam. This is a great location to put your jack stand. It's extremely solid and designed to carry the weight of the vehicle. Right there, and again, I'm aiming for a very heavy piece of the front axle, or frame. Once you have your jack stand set, you can take and release the pressure on your hydraulic floor jack very slowly. You want the vehicle to settle down onto the receiver cup of the jack stand. If you let it crash down, it may bounce and bounce off of the stand causing damage to the vehicle or yourself. Right there. That is the proper service procedure for jacking your vehicle, placing your jack stand and settling the vehicle down on your stand."
