"Hi, I'm Tina Stull and I drive the Top Dragster for Interstate Batteries. On behalf of Expert Village I'm here to help you walk through the process of filling out the forms so that you can compete in the NHRA. The week before a race is the last day, I think it's the Monday, and it may be different for each race but if you give them notice that you're going to withdraw in time then there isn't a penalty. I think there might be a small part of it that they keep, but you do, you can get withdrawn, and then they will not bump you out of the other races. So if you can't make it you really need to contact your Division Director or the competition department. Also if you have extenuating circumstances, your trailer breaks, you've broken down on the way to the track, they're understanding about that. They understand racing and stuff. It's just mainly they don't want to have no shows because if there are no shows that's a spot that a racer who really wanted to be there could have been there. So moving on, we've filled out the application, we've got our physical form, we've got our time slips, we've done our runs at an NHRA track. We get all that paperwork together, we mail it off and it takes a bit to process the licensing. Like I said, if your short notice on this, a lot of time the Division Director can help you out and you can get your number but it will take a while for you to get your actual license and you need to make sure you carry that and your number card when you go to the track. That will be all part of tech. Later we will be talking about teching in and what that means and what actually is happening at the track."
