How to Show Off Your Sponsor for Car Racing

"TINA STULL: Hi. I'm Tina Stull, and I drive the Top Dragster for Interstate Batteries. On behalf of Expert Village, I want to talk to you about sponsorship in the world of racing. Also, there's--a lot of times, you have--with sponsors, you have additional things. You may have appearances to do. So, you need to track also if they want you to do, say 5 appearances, that's 5 days lost work; is the money that you're getting worth that? Also, as a racer, most of your exposure doesn't come from the track. You might--as a sportsman racer, there's very limited amount of television time and so you have to find it via other avenues, and that is can be through local newspapers and so forth. The first part about getting sponsorship is you need to like let the sponsor know who are you are. And so, you can assemble a packet and it--you just need to work into that; anything that you've been PR wise. In here, I have the different TV shows or programs that I've been on. I included it; the sponsors that I work with, the charities that I work with because of a lot of times, that's a part--a great part of what I do and how I utilize my car away from the track. And for my particular sponsor, that's meaningful to them."
