About NHRA Racing Driver Cards as Collector Items

"TINA STULL: Hi, I'm Tina Stull and I drive the Top Dragster for Interstate Batteries. On behalf of Expert Village, today, we're going to talk about the basics of racing. When you're thinking of the cost, don't think of it as giving it away once because a lot of people collect these cards. And so, if you're lucky enough to have somebody hold on to your card and it gets passed around or--years from now, it keeps on giving. I mean, people--if you check out eBay, you check out one of the auction sites, you'll see a lot of these cards on there all the time. So you're investing in more than just something that you're going to give away at the track. In reality for me, I probably get fewer away at the track than I do at appearances and stuff. But it gives you kind of a mode that when you're at an appearance to have something to draw people either to you, to your table, to the car or whatever. And it's always--the appreciation that people get, they're glad to get it. And they enjoy being able to meet somebody and it does also boost the legitimacy of your race team."
