"The windows go up and down, so I go around to each window and make sure that the crank system is working properly. So you make sure that the glass is in good condition, I always sit inside and look out the windshield because that’s the best way to see rock chips in the windshield you can see them better from this angle. As an appraiser I’m very careful with the window crank system, I have had a situation once where I started cranking somebody’s window and then it suddenly disappeared in the door so I always ask permission prior to cranking those windows so that doesn’t happen again, that was a very unhappy client. So you establish the condition of the glass, glass you know windshields are very expensive, flat side glass is not however, sometimes it’s very important on an older car a special interest car to have the original glass, if you replace it then it effects the value negatively on the car."
