"Hi! I'm George Stonebrook for Expert Village and I am here talking to you today about preventing theft to your vintage car. Another way of theft deterrent is to advertise that you have protected your car. One of the best ways to do that is to either subscribe to or obtain certain things that will protect your car that have identification stickers much like this one down here. The Automobile Association of America has stickers provided to their club members that will say that if their car is broken into, the person that is caught breaking into it is subject to criminal penalties and there will be rewards giving for anyone that does get caught doing that; that is one deterrent. Some tools that are deterrents that are bolted on the car, some alarm systems or perhaps mobilizers, come with their own stickers and those too can be put on the car in various locations just to advertise it. The car has been selected as a protected automobile and that steps has been taken to make sure that it will stay that way. Another way that cars are protected is the windows all around the car has the identification number are actually etched into the glass and what that does is generally speaking the car window isn't the only thing that will be replaced on the car; usually its the whole door. So if you have a door with a window with an etched number that belongs to some other car, that is easily and most likely be detected by somebody else looking for a similar part. "
