"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Laura Banford. I'm going to show you how to make some rock and pasta salad and some couscous lentil salad. We're making a pasta salad so the base of that is obviously pasta. I selected a nice round rotel pasta. You can see it here, it is a good selection for a pasta salad because you wouldn't want something tubular. That's for something more of a thick sauce and you certainly wouldn't want spaghetti because you want to be able to fork up the pasta salad and get a lot on one fork and spaghetti is toolong for that, so I like that Rotel. I just want to talk a little bit about pasta, pasta is a very ancient food and it did not originated in Italy like some people might think or might think; it would be an obvious guess. It originated in China in 2000 BC. The Chinese have used fresh pasta since then, long long time. Dry pasta such as this Rotel didn't begin to be used until the 1200s in Cicely that's 32 hundred years later. Dry pasta is really easy to use obviously and keep it something to keep in your pantry and used in soups or as a pasta you know sauce pasta dish or like we're going to in our pasta salad. Join me next when we actually boil our pasta."
