"Hey guys! My name is J and I am talking on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip I am actually going to show you about adding the water to your pot. You know you've got your pot on the stove and it's not too hot but we want to come over here and the pot needs to be 3/4 full of water. Once you add your water to your pot, you are going to want to add salt to the pot. Once you have added all the water to the pot, you can go ahead and dump your potatoes inside of your pot. Once you do that, you add the salt. Now, you can add as much or as little salt you want but you need the flavor the potatoes while they are cooking so I suggest you use a pretty good amount of salt. Those are my small little tips for cooking potatoes in cold water rather than hot. Like I said in an earlier clip, by doing that you are cooking the potato evenly through instead of cooking a huge potato and put it in boiling water or even a thin potato and putting that in boiling water. You know, the outside gets cooked faster than the inside. If you put them in the water that just came out of the faucet, they have time to cook thoroughly all the way through because the temperature of the water is rising slowly. That is my tip for adding the water to your pot. Thank you. "
